A
couple of evenings a month the Coffeehouse in downtown Normal features
live jazz from the Bob McEntyre Quintet. Usually in the early evenings,
6:30-9:30pm, adults and children alike are welcome in the smoke
free concert environment of the Coffeehouse. The last set also features
young jazz musicians sitting in with the band, which this night
consisted of Chip McNeil (Saxophones), David Hoffman (Trumpet),
Shawn Parsons (Piano), Toby Curtright (Bass) and our fearless leader
Dr. Bob McEntyre (Drums) Other musicians that are part of the band
on other occasions include Glen Wilson (Baritone Saxophone), Bill
Kohler (Bass), Steve Anderson (Piano). Bill Schlifp (Bass) and Lamont
Parsons (Guitar). Acoustics are good, the vegetarian fare is delicious,
and the band is always fun. And this is a privately sponsored gig,
so when you come in, find our benefactor Dr. Alan Griffin and thank
him for bringing jazz to the Bloomington area. |
